As a child born and raised in the oil patch in Wyoming, I have experienced more times than I can recount the harshness of a downturn’s effects on energy companies and more so their employees. When downturns are serious enough, the layoffs and cutbacks can become overwhelming. But, we need to remember how important this industry is, not only its people but to the rest of the country.
Frequently, with the backdrop of today’s macroeconomics and public corporate structures, it’s easy to get lost in the daily swings of oil prices. But, every motivation we have is not profit driven. We in the energy industry do more than create profits, we keep our country going. We work to ensure that Americans can keep their lights on and their cars running.
We in the oil patch are, and will remain, a resilient bunch. The Dahill Group remains committed to energy. I am certain that the talent and strong will possessed by our energy industry will see us through any current and future challenge we will face.
