CO Supreme Court Rules Fracking Bans Illegal

As an update to last week’s blog, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled against cities fracking limits, declaring them “invalid and unenforceable”. The court wrote that the moratorium’s enacted in Boulder and Longmont “materially impedes the effectuation of the state’s interest in the efficient and responsible development of oil and gas resources”.

COGA CEO Dan Haley calls this a win for the energy industry and says COGA is eager to work with will work with communities to “find a balance” between drillers and residents. This common sense decision will help the state’s efforts in keeping energy affordable and easily accessible to meet people’s needs while also improving our methods to get energy.
